Chitale revealed to Newsband that the “Rickshaw” project is currently in the proposal stage, but PMcis is eager to move forward. “So far, we have identified 125 beneficiaries and plan to train about 300 women from Mahila Bhachat Gats,” Chitale said.

The project aims not only to provide economically disadvantaged women with the skills to drive a tricycle, but also to create a sustainable ecosystem for their business, where personal computers will assist in driver training, obtaining permits and managing the necessary documents through coordination with the Panvel RTo. Charging stations and dedicated stations for electric tricycles will also be provided.
In addition to the training, PMC also plans to develop a dedicated app and toll-free number to book rickshaws, which will ensure that female commuters can easily access the service without any obstacles.
Chital stressed that the initiative will provide comprehensive support to the women involved, aiming to make their journey towards financial independence as smooth as possible.
